The Best Fort Lauderdale Fishing Charters happen when more than just the fish bite. Ive been in the fishing charter business a long time and one thing I know for certain is that communication between the captain/crew and your fishing party is essential to a great day. While many captains and crew are burned out on repetitive questions, we are not. We try to explain what we will be doing throughout the course of your fishing charter at the beginning of the trip and during its duration. Please ask questions if youre unfamiliar with the technique, we enjoy sharing our “Local Knowledge” with you so you have a better experience on the water. Let us know what your expectations are for your trip. Are you looking for edible fish for the table, lots of action for the kids or maybe a big trophy fish for the taxidermist. Whatever it is we will work hard to fufill your request. Most important, relax! Happy boats catch fish! We take a true interest in our customers and enjoy our time with you. There is nothing worse than a “stuffy” boat. Put the phone down, lol. Its so hard these days to let go of our phones but the biggest part of your experience besides catching fish is enjoying your time on the water. The smell of the salty ocean, seeing the flying fish and other bait getting pushed by predators indicating a possible strike, the color of the water, the sound of the birds, the swirl of a fish taking your bait, the look on your child’s face when he hooks a big one, we miss it all when we’re Facebooking and checking emails,etc..SO when you put all these things together and the fish cooperate you will truly experience the best fort lauderdale fishing charter. Come fishing with us and let us show you a great time.
We had some great Fort Laudedale Fishing with good friends and repeat customers Kathy and Russ from Canada. They chartered us this last week for 4 all day trips. Now I thought they were lucky last year when they fished with us. They caught a tiger shark, a hammerhead shark, a giant 80# wahoo, 3 sailfish, mahi mahi, kingfish, and a couple of amberjacks. This year we did just as good we tried some bottom fishing and filled the box with snappers and a 15# snowy grouper and a boxfull of black belly rose fish. Most people have never heard of rose fish but we catch them deep dropping with an electric reel in 800-900 feet of water. Its a lot of fun and they are DELICIOUS!! We also caught a handful of mahi, a bunch of black fin tuna, a couple of skip jack tuna, a huge 300 pound nurse shark, another big grouper and a giant barracuda, oh and 2 nice wahoos that Kathy caught. Wedid hook one sailfish but he gave us the slip. Guys thank you again for everything! Cant wait to see you again next year.
In the past couple weeks we’ve truly had some of The Best Fort Lauderdale Fishing Charters“. The wahoo fishing has been excellent in December and now into the new year. Fish are averaging 20-30#’s, with a few monsters around as well pushing 80#’s. While we catch the wahoos trolling our bigger fish are falling victem to live baits pulled from the out riggers and especially the down rigger. Light wire traces and small treble hooks lead to more bites and more fish in the box. The sailfish are here but we are still waiting on the bigger numbers. The cold fronts have stalled out so when they get going again so will the sailfish. With the warmer weather and winds out of the East and South East we are seeing plenty of mahi mahi, which eat everything. Trolled baits, Live baits, jigs and chunks, they like them all for lunch. Hammerhead sharks are increasing in numbers right now most fish are in the 100# class right now but the real sea monsters are on their way!!
Fort Lauderdale Fishing
And just like that March is upon is and so are the fish. King fish and blackfin tunas are starting to bite real well. Small strip baits and spoons account for most of the bites while trolling. Mahi mahi are increasing in their numbers. Wahoos are mixed in for a nice surprise.Sailfish are still lurking around and sharks have shown up in force!!! Let’s go fishing!!!
Fort Lauderdale Fishing has been Red Hot this May and June. A little bit of everything has been biting the last two months. Bottom fishing has been excellent for snapper and grouper. Trolling has been extremely productive for bonita and kings, the occassional sailfish and some mahi. We normally troll small strip baits made from bonita with a small skirt, feather or sea witch in front of it. We will typically run three or four surface baits along with two baits fished deep on the planers. We will fish strips on the planers as well or one strip and a spoon. The surface baits will catch the mahi, bonita and occassional sail while the planer takes its toll on the wahoo, kings and blackfin tuna. As far as big game fish go amberjacks have been breaking peoples backs, tackle and spirits as well the last couple months. These bruisers will put you to the test. There has still been pretty good action for sailfish especially when kite fishing. The sharks are ravenous, this has been one of the best shark seasons we have seen in the last couple years. Big bloody baits on big tackle are just the ticket for these sea monsters. We will fish a big slab of bonita or king out of the kite, a mid bait down about 100-150 feet down and a bait all the way on bottom in 350 ft of water. It’s a bit of a waiting game but worth it!! We put plenty of other baits out for sails , mahi etc while we wait for the big bite, it gets interesting quick when you have a sail and a shark on at the same time or two sharks for that matter!!!!
